State of the UK Online Labour Market – 2018 Year Analysis

Textkernel’s recent year analysis of the UK Job market revealed 9,265,785 unique jobs posted on non-government sites.

The data used for this report comes from Jobfeed, Textkernel’s searchable job database for lead generation, competitive insights and labour market analysis.

Key Highlights:

  • There were 1.67% fewer jobs posted in 2018 when compared with 2017
  • Sales and Trading experienced the largest movement, dropping by 1.49%
  • Customer Service Agent has taken the top professional spot over Nurse, reflecting strong growth in the Administration and Customer Service category
  • Nurse, Sales Manager and Trainee all peak in number of posting during Q2 of 2017, after which they decline through to the end of 2018
  • Large retail store chains including TESCO, Asda Stores and Sainsbury’s are in the top 5 direct employers by number of online postings

State of the UK Labour Market – Q3 2018

Textkernel’s recent Q3 2018 analysis of the UK Job market revealed 2,360,570 unique jobs posted on non-government sites.

The data used for this report comes from Jobfeed, Textkernel’s searchable job database for lead generation, competitive insights and labour market analysis.

Key highlights of the report include:

  • Customer Service Agent was the top profession, followed closely by Nurses
  • Healthcare is the top Job category in the UK, despite declining 0.4% compared to Q3 2017
  • Information and Communication Technology and Insurance and Finance both grew market share by 0.5%
  • England accounted for 91.2% of the online jobs posted
  • Full-time positions accounted for 90.8% of all vacancies posted

What’s new – Revamped EMSI Analytics

Gain supply-side insight into the market with EMSI Analytics

The enhanced EMSI Analytics tab provides data from the US census bureau and other sources to offer insight into the supply side of the market. This is available per profession and is customizable down to the county level. EMSI is perfect for investigating the number of employees in a specific profession, their typical regional earnings compared to the national earnings and the number of people hired per month versus the number of job postings per month.

The many filters and search criteria that you’re already using on the Jobfeed portal for searching jobs work automatically with the data visualization on the Insights tab. This makes it a great way to turn a search you’re already busy with into an analysis of market demand and supply.
